Pupil Premium

Why Pupil Premium?
This is a Government initiative aimed at “narrowing the gap” in attainment and progress for those children who historically, do not achieve as well in general, as other children. Therefore schools received funding for each child registered as eligible for ‘free school meals’ at any point in the last 6 years:£1,320 for pupils in EYFS to Year 6£1,900 for each pupil who has left local-authority care because of 1 of the following:

  • adoption
  • a special guardianship order
  • a child arrangements order
  • a residence order

Traditionally, PP (Pupil Premium) pupils do well at Lever House. Infact, no groups are left behind “the rest’ and no gaps form. This is due we feel, to the rigorous and robust pupil tracking system in place which ensure all pupils, regardless of their starting point and personal situation, make sufficient progress in order to meet and often exceed, their own personal targets.

As a school, we evaluate where our money is spent and try to maximise the impact every pound can make for individual pupils and as a school as a whole. The pupils who benefit from this funding have made good progress and good attainment and are generally at least in line with the progress and attainment made by pupils nationally. They have also received experiences and attended events which they would not have received without the funding.
