Parent and Carer involvement in your child’s learning
We want to work as closely as possible with you to provide the best possible future for your child. We actively promote a healthy dialogue between all parents at all times. We want your views, we listen to you and we act on what you say and what you want.
We ask you to complete an annual parental questionnaire to help us see if we are getting it right for you and your children. Of course, you don’t have to wait for the questionnaire to make your views known. We will always see parents straight away with any issue as soon as possible.
Parents are invited into school on a number of occasions during the year but are welcome at any time. We also invite parents / carers into the EYFS, Yr 1 and Yr classes on Wednesday mornings from 8.50am – 9.15am.
The Headteacher and staff are always willing to discuss the children’s progress, give advice and sort out any problems that may arise. Contact with the teachers can be had at the beginning or end of the school day over minor matters; for those, which may be more complicated, it may be necessary to make an appointment.
During the year, your child will be sent home with targets which will inform you what they need to do in order to improve in reading, writing and maths. When the children achieve these targets they will be given the next target to continue to improve.
At the end of the year you will receive a written report on your child’s development with a statement about how well they are working and their attainment judged against national standards and expectations.
School welcomes the help of any parent/ carer who has some free time to give. If you wish to offer your services please contact the school office for more details.
