Please see the following guide to help you understand when you should keep your child away from school and so for how long – and alo when it is not necessary to keep your child away from school.

 Chickenpox  Until all vesicles have crusted over
 German measles  Four days from onset of rash
 Hand, foot and mouth  None 
 Impetigo  Until lesions are crusted and healed
 Measles  Four days from onset of rash
 Ringworm  Exclusion not usually required
 Slapped cheek  None (once rash has developed)
 Diarrhoea and/or vomiting  excluded for 48 hours 
 Flu (influenza)  Until recovered
 Conjunctivitis  None
 Diphtheria  Exclusion is essential
 Head lice  None
 Mumps  five days 
 Tonsillitis  None
